Today, the 1834 Hurlbutt Street School House, designated Wilton’s Fourth Historic District and listed on the National Register of Historic Places, serves as a living museum where school children can visit for a day and learn the ways of earlier times.  Almost 500 second grade students, from Wilton and Weston Elementary Schools, participate in our programs.  They are coordinated and taught by volunteer parent “school marms.”

The school house is maintained and preserved by donations from generous supporters including neighbors, former students, and participants in the Early Education Programs for which we are appreciative and grateful.  We hope you will join our friends and members and enable us to continue the preservation of part of Wilton’s historical legacy.

Please consider supporting this worthwhile endeavor by purchasing an annual membership, a lifetime membership or by contributing directly to the operating expenses of the preservation fund.
